Homecoming at Widener is more than just a one-day celebration, it’s a full week of beloved traditions, events, and activities for students to enjoy. From sports and games to a talent show, carnival, and events honoring Widener’s history, there are plenty of ways to get into the Homecoming spirit throughout the week. Whether you attend one event or try to pack your schedule with as many as possible, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Grab your friends, break out your blue and gold, and see how many of these 7 Homecoming events you can check off your bucket list this year!
1. Homecoming Karaoke Night 🎤
Have you ever wanted to bring together a group of your friends and belt out your favorite songs? Karaoke Night is the perfect event for your Homecoming Bucket List this year! No formal singing experience is required! Just get up on that stage, sing your heart out, and enjoy the moment.
- When: Tuesday, October 6th, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
- Where: Lathem Hall
2. Homecoming Bingo 🎉
Bingo is a favorite among the Widener community, so it should definitely be on your bucket list for this year's Homecoming celebration. You'll have a fun evening out with your friends and the chance to win some great prizes. Be sure to get there early, because it is always a popular event!
- When: Wednesday, October 7th, 9:00 pm - 11:30 pm
- Where: Memorial Field or Alumni Auditorium
3. Widener's Got Talent 🎭
Supporting your peers as they show off their incredible talents? Check! Past performances have ranged from poetry to music and dance, and we have an amazing line-up of acts this year, too. Come on out to see all that our Pride family can do!
- When: Thursday, October 8th, 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
- Where: Alumni Auditorium
4. Voices from Freedom: Oral History 🦅
Watch live interviews of PMC alumni from the class of '66 and '71 as they recall their experiences as cadets. This oral history is a great way to honor Widener's military legacy, especially as we commemorate America 250 and Military 250. If you've ever been curious about Widener's history, this is an event that you won't want to miss.

5. Homecoming Carnival 🎡
Get ready to head in Homecoming Weekend with the Homecoming Carnival! You'll get to play games, take a spin on some carnival rides, and maybe even knock a friend into the dunk tank. Add in some classic carnival food, and this is the perfect event to get you into the Homecoming spirit.
- When: Friday, October 9th, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
- Where: Memorial Field or Academic Quad & part of E 14th Street
6. Homecoming Village Tailgate 🛻
This year's Homecoming Tailgate Village will include multiple food trucks, two beer gardens, live DJ’s, face painting, family-friendly activities, and even more interactive fun with a golf simulator, mini golf, arcade games, skee-ball, carnival games, and more, inside our Wild Zone! The Tailgate Village always draws a great crowd from your Widener community, so make sure to join in the fun by adding this to your bucket list!

- Where: Pride Recreation Center Parking Lot & Field House
7. Homecoming Football Game 🏈
Once you've participated in the Tailgate Village, you'll be more than ready cheer on our Widener Pride football team as they take on the Albright College Lions in this year's Homecoming game! Make sure to get there around 12:30 pm to catch the Broom Drill, a beloved tradition dating back to our PMC days, which honors the cadets who used to drill with brooms. It's a classic, perfect way to round out your bucket list!
